Privacy Policy

Strider (“we,” “us,” or “the app”) is a fitness app that tracks your workouts and adds levels, achievements, and a social feed on top of them. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email us at privacy@playstrider.com.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address and a password (stored securely by our authentication provider — we never see your password in plain text), plus the username/handle and profile details you choose.
• Location data. With your permission, we use your device’s GPS while you are using the app — including in the background during an active workout — to measure the distance and route of your runs and rides. We do not track your location when you are not working out.
• Motion & fitness data. With your permission, we read your device’s motion and fitness sensors to automatically tell whether you are running or biking during a workout.
• Health data (Apple Watch). If you use the Apple Watch app, we read workout metrics such as heart rate and active calories through Apple HealthKit to track and score your workout, and we can save completed workouts back to the Health app. HealthKit data is used only to provide these features and is never used for advertising or sold to anyone.
• Content you create. We store the content you choose to add or share — workout summaries, captions, route map images, posts, profile information, who you follow, and any messages you send within the app.

How we use your information

We use the information above only to operate the app: to create and secure your account, record and score your workouts, show your progress and achievements, and power the social features (feed, follows, discovery, and messaging) that you choose to use.

How your information is stored and shared

Your data is stored using Supabase, our hosted backend and database provider, which processes it on our behalf to run the service. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We may disclose information if required by law.

Your choices and account deletion

You can permanently delete your account and its associated data at any time from inside the app (Settings → Delete Account). Deleting your account removes your profile and the content tied to it from our systems.

Children

Strider is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above.
